Thus, when there is less flow of blood to your head, your hair does not receive enough nutrients. Exercise greatly helps in improving blood circulation.
Certain exercises like shoulder stand or head stand increase blood flow to your head. However, these exercises must be done with great precaution and guidance at least in the beginning. There are certain yoga positions that you might find beneficial. A good scalp massage at time can do wonders to your hair.
Diet and Nutrition
You might have heard many people saying that your looks depend on what you eat. This logic also applies to your hair as well. Your hair needs as much nutrition as your skin. A lot of people experience dull, dry and brittle hair due to lack of nutrition. Eating foods rich in minerals and vitamins is the key to healthy hair.
Different nutrients have different impact on your hair. Some make your air strong while some make them shiny. Protein makes up to 95 percent of a single hair strand. Thus, the more variety of nutrients you add to your food, the better. Make sure that your diet contains at least the following nutrients:
- Natural oils
- Vitamin B – biotin, B6 and B12
You will find these nutrients in foods like:
- Fishes such as salmon and tuna
- Fruits such as apples and grapes
- Green vegetables
- Nuts and meat
- Brussels sprouts
Have as much as water you can. It helps clean you system as well as provides enough moisture that your hair needs. Other liquids like fruit juices are acceptable, but avoid sugar and soft drinks. Stay away from starchy foods like white rice and white flour.
Stress and sleeping habits
You must know that your hair follicles contain stress-hormone receptors. Thus, when you experience any kind of stress, it affects your hair and not in a good way. After a certain amount of time, your body sheds some amount of hair, which is then replaced by new growth. Stress disturbs this balance.
Sleep is another factor affecting hair growth. You need at least seven to eight hours of sleep every day. If this is affected, the chemical balance in your body is also affected and you experience hair loss. It is very important to get good amount of sleep and rest in a day to make sure that the chemical balance in your body is maintained.
